Why Life Skills Garage Exists
Our past can teach us without defining our future.
Life Skills Garage comes from a simple belief: people do better when someone is willing to teach them, encourage them, hold them accountable and see more in them than their hardest chapter.
That belief comes from my own life. I have had to rebuild after addiction and after being incarcerated for three years. I have also worked to restore relationships and become the father and person I wanted to be.
Those experiences taught me how easily people can feel written off—and how much it matters when someone is willing to see their potential and help them take the next step.
The number 29 in our identity honors my brother, who passed away from cancer on March 17, 2026—St. Patrick’s Day—after fighting for four years. His goal in life was to help people become the best versions of themselves.
Life Skills Garage is one way I can help carry his mission forward. Every time we teach a skill, encourage someone through a mistake or help a person see more potential in themselves, we continue the kind of work he believed in. His memory is not simply part of the logo; it is part of the purpose behind everything we are building.
I do not have every answer. I do know what it feels like to need guidance, another opportunity and someone willing to show you how.
